Hi, my name is Alessia, and I live on Long Island, NY. I am a solo traveler, baker, artist, gardener, and all-around good-time-haver. Most importantly, I believe anyone, especially women, can do anything they set their minds to.

You see, I have never been someone that would settle. Ever since I was a child, I would push myself out of my comfort zone. The most significant moment was my junior year of high school when I decided to join the boy's wrestling team. In 2000, not many girls wrestled, so when I decided to join, it caused confusion and concerns. Even though it was probably the hardest thing I ever did, I stuck with it and joined the following year again.

In my mid 20's I lost myself when I was in a mentally abusive relationship. Being told you're unattractive and not good enough by someone you are in a relationship with can take away everything you thought you knew about yourself.

Eventually, when the time came when the relationship ended, I had no idea who I was anymore. But I knew this… I was the only girl wrestler on the boy's wrestling team, and if I could get through that, I could get through anything!

So, with my wrestling memories strengthening my soul, I decided I needed a fresh start in my life. And with that thought, I booked my first ever solo vacation to Florida. I was never someone that did anything by herself, and I am not going to lie; I was scared to death booking that first trip. But it was precisely what I needed.

It provided me with more proof that I could do anything I set my mind to and I was capable of doing difficult things my own. Since that first trip, I have never looked back. I completely transformed my life in ways I never thought were possible, and I have continued to travel the world by myself!

I have also worked with my mentor/life coach Tonya Leigh Rising, throughout my solo travel journey. I understand the importance of having someone there to guide you through the process of changing your life and taking action toward your goals, which is why I decided to become a certified Martha Beck Life Coach and create One Girl Travel.

The goal of One Girl Travel is to encourage women to go after what they desire in all aspects of their life, especially traveling. I am here to empower and support you to make your dreams come true, and I am so excited that you're a part of the One Girl Travel community!
