Recently, I had the opportunity to embark on a 5-day journey aboard one of their ships, departing from Miami with stops in Costa Maya, Mexico, and Bimini beach in the Bahamas. While the bed arrangement was unique and the bathrooms compact, there was ample closet space to accommodate all my belongings.

The “shake for champagne” feature on the cruise app allows you to have bubbly delivered to you anywhere on the ship with a simple shake of your phone. Plus, passengers are allowed to bring two bottles of wine on board, ensuring you can enjoy your favorite vintage without breaking the bank.

Whether you’re in the mood for a late-night pizza or want to indulge in the special Asian night market event, you won’t be disappointed. While I personally prefer the specialty dining at Norwegian Cruise Line, I appreciated that all dining experiences on Virgin Voyages were complimentary.

When it comes to onboard activities, Virgin Voyages has something for everyone. Take a dip in the pools or unwind in the hot tubs; try your hand at karaoke; break a sweat with retro workouts; or pamper yourself at the spa—the choice is yours! While there’s no all-inclusive beverage package, the drink prices are reasonable enough that you can still indulge without feeling like it’s a “gotcha” moment.
Smooth Sailing Through Travel Hiccups
On my return journey, I encountered an unexpected challenge due to a global security outage affecting my flight. With a long wait ahead and a concert I would now be missing, I turned to the Day Use website to book a hotel room near the airport. For around $125, I secured a room at Homewood Suites from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., which proved to be a lifesaver.
Instead of spending the day lugging my suitcases around the airport, I enjoyed a comfortable stay where I could nap, order food, freshen up with a shower, and catch the complimentary shuttle to the airport. Day Use turned what could have been a stressful experience into a pleasant and convenient one, and I highly recommend their service for anyone facing travel disruptions or simply looking to make the most of a layover.

Overall, my first experience with Virgin Voyages was nothing short of remarkable. The adults-only atmosphere, unique destinations, exceptional dining, and endless entertainment options make it a must-try for any traveler seeking a fresh take on cruising.
While I understand that cruising may not be for everyone, I genuinely believe that Virgin Voyages offers an experience that can convert even the most hesitant traveler. The only exception would be those prone to extreme seasickness, as no amount of onboard enjoyment can combat that.
